Produk ini tidak termasuk kategori VOC berdasarkan aturan Uni Eropa (Decopaint Directive 2004/42/EC dan Solvent Emissions Directive) serta peraturan lingkungan di Tiongkok. Dengan status non-VOC, tingkat racun yang rendah, dan sifat yang mudah terurai di alam, produk ini aman digunakan. Bahan ini umumnya dipakai sebagai koalesen berbau rendah untuk berbagai jenis pelapis berbasis air.
